Bread of Life Ministry
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." Matthew 25:35-36 NIV
Our purpose in this ministry is to reach out to people by meeting needs. We provide food and clothes, but our main goal is to supply spiritual needs. As we meet physical needs, we have a great opportunity to meet spiritual needs. We want to make friends with these people. As we hand them a bag of groceries or clothes, we give them a smile too. That is more important than the food or clothes. While people are waiting to be served we have an opportunity to visit with them. As we sign them up, visit with them while they wait, give them courtesy, and a smile while we serve them. We will make an impression on them. We represent Jesus and His church to them. We are here to give them a smile, visit with them, pray with them, invite them for a cup of coffee, read scripture together, offer an encouraging word, and extend an invitation to join us in worship at church.
Donations to the bread of Life are always welcome. We are especially in need of baby and small children’s clothing, cold weather clothing for children and adults, linens, blankets, plastic grocery bags, and occasionally we ask for specific food items. The Bread of Life is located inside the Matt 25 building at 1200 Thornton, Clovis. Please bring your items to the loading dock located on the south side of Matt 25 anytime. They may be left on the dock. The number for Matt 25 is (575) 763-4400.
